Save session file as: [song title – FOR MIX]
Rough mix the song and place in folder: [band name – date – rough mixes]
Make sure all necessary tracks are included
Please include only tracks you want mixed with the final song
Delete the ‘master fader’ and all aux tracks
Name all tracks clearly. Time needed to decipher tracks or re-label incorrect tracks will be billed.
Check all edits to ensure clean transitions. Make necessary adjustments to remove pops and clicks at edit points.
DO NOT STRIP SILENCE
DO NOT CONSOLIDATE TRACKS
Remove ALL plugins
If there is a specific effect you would like to keep in the final mix, print that plugin to a new audio track. Please include before and after plugin tracks and label each clearly. Any questions, please email.
Remove ALL volume and mute automation
Remove unused regions from the session
Go to ‘File’/’Save Session Copy In…’
Session Format: ‘Latest’
Audio File Type: ‘BWF/.WAV’ [or AIFF if your session is AIFF]
Sample Rate: same as current
Bit Depth: 24
Check ‘copy all audio files’
Check do not copy fade files’
Create a new folder: [band name – date – FOR MIX]
Save session as [song title – FOR MIX].
Make a backup of the ‘FOR MIX’ folder in case the hard drive / DVD is damaged in shipping
Repeat these steps for each song
Send hard drive / Send DVD
Verify the DVD is readable after burning
Include rough mixes in a separate folder or on audio CD
Pack drives / DVDs well to protect against shipping damage
Include power supply and cables for hard drives
Include as many notes as you would like!
