A great recording starts with great music and a great performance. Before recording begins, we at Winding Road Studios help you the artist make sure your music is in tip-top shape. At times, no work is necessary at all. At other times, a rearrangement can make a dramatic difference in the final outcome, the final master. This is the first of many areas where Charles’ experience can help turn a lackluster song into a memorable tune, or a flawed diamond into a perfect cut, a hit song.
During the recording process, again Charles’ award winning experience can help coach and keep you, the artist, inspired through every take. Recording sessions can be long and arduous, so it is invaluable to have someone there who is on your side and cares just as much as you about getting the elusive ‘perfect take’.
Even those artists who have years of experience on tour, playing every night or every week around the world, need a producer they can trust in the recording environment. They need someone to bounce ideas off of. They need someone to tell them when things sound good, and when they don’t. Charles is a part of your session to not only take care of technical engineering, but also to help you be creative and help you realize your vision through each and every take to the final master. Most often, an artist needs to hire two separate people to engineer and produce, especially at the highest levels. However, Charles’ combination of technical knowledge and creativity is a rare occurrence in the music industry, and in the long run it enables you the artist to get the best of both worlds at half the cost.
